Shawn Hill

Managing Partner

Shawn’s passion is collaborating with leadership executives on the strategies that will enable them to scale and ultimately exit faster than they can on their own. His sole goal is to be a facilitator of the great ideas that originally formed his client’s businesses.

Prior to founding August Hill, Shawn was a Partner at Moderne Ventures. He managed the portfolio and accelerator program with over 80 startups ranging from pre-revenue to IPO stage across multiple funds with $240M AUM. His primary responsibilities included overseeing their go to market accelerator and managing the strategic partners’ network within real estate, financial services, insurance, mortgage, and marketplaces.

Before Moderne, Shawn held several executive-level positions for some of the world’s largest technology companies, including DocuSign (NYSE: DOCU) and Constellation Software (TSX: CSU). His positions were head of business development, real estate for DocuSign and GM of Constellation’s real estate software subsidiary (now Constellation1). Previously, Shawn held sales and operations positions in the lending verticals at Chase, Bank of America, and Cendant Corporation. Overall, Shawn brings 23 years of experience across venture, strategy, go to market, business development, and operations to his clients.

Shawn is also an active member in many organizations helping underserved founders, startups, and aspiring investors through organizations such as BLKVC and the National Association of Black MBAs and a mentor for several prominent VC accelerators, incubators, and funds.
